LP Review: Experience by Kaleido

May 11th, 2017-Kaleido is a Detroit based rock band consisting of members Christina Chriss (vocals), Joey Fava (drums), Ronnie Rosolino (rhythm guitar), Cody Morales (bass) and Zach Bolling (lead guitar). This five piece group is keeping rock n roll alive with their incredible hits and sound. Attending notable festivals such as Vans Warped Tour, Rockstar Uproar Festival, Summerfest & CMJ Music Marathon and opened for Aerosmith, Slash, Kid Rock, The Offspring, Sammy Hagar, Evanescence, Halestorm, Ace Frehley of Kiss, Twenty One Pilots and countless others. Experience is set to release May 19th, 2017.

Upon reading the influences that the band listed a level was set for the kind of vocals and instrumentals that would be presented. For Kaledio, there was an expectation of powerful female vocals and an almost rock sound instrumentally. That is exactly what happened. The LP starts with an “Intro” that when closing my eyes i imagined someone with their windows down, on a dirt road blasting music from a cadillac. The opening full length song titled “Blue Collar Delight” definitely gave me that country feeling. Now what happens next is something I have never heard before. A song titled “I” is a 29 second long voicemail left for the lead singer, Christina from her father wishing her luck and concluding with “I won’t get drunk I promise.” Christina gracefully responds with an appreciative laugh from Christina. That was honestly one of the highlights of this LP for me. As the LP continues different dynamics and tones are used. The LP ends with a  song titled “The End” which completely what I expected from this album; a slower song highlighting vocals. This was a powerful song as it mentions someone escaping someone hold and finally expressing their feelings to no longer want to be associated with them and their bullsh*t.
